Xiaomi miui10
It may not be the fastest to do so, but Xiaomiis actually one of the better Android OEMs out there when it comes to software updates. The Chinese technology company has a good track record of updating smartphones dating back almost five years, even if those updates are generally enhancements related to its MIUI overlay, and not new Android versions. However, it s near impossible to keep on updating old devices forever, which is why Xiaomi has decided to drop support for some of its smartphones.
According to the (rough) translation of a recent post made on MIUI s Chinese forums, Xiaomi will end support for few of its smartphones. These include Redmi Note 3, Mi 4, Mi 4C, Mi 4S, and even the flagship Mi 5. The post clarifies that these smartphones won t get the MIUI 11 update, whenever it s announced.
The forum post further mentions that MIUI 10.2 will be the last stable ROM for Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3. Also, MIUI 10.1 will mark the end of support for Mi 4, Mi 4C, and Mi 4S, with the stable ROM for these smartphones expected to be released in January next year.
